Lot Attendant – Sales (Various)

POSITION SUMMARY:
Maintains the physical appearance of the lot vehicles, prepares vehicles for delivery and performs miscellaneous errands, assignments and tasks for the sales department as directed by the Sales Manager. Washes, cleans and dries vehicles, both inside and out, on a daily basis; starts each displayed vehicle every morning and advises manager if a vehicle will not start; rearranges vehicle display positions as directed by the manager; maintains all lights, pennants and sales equipment ready for use; delivers and pick up vehicles from the preparation and/or reconditioning area.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

1. Washes, cleans, and dries vehicles (inside and out) on a daily basis.
2. Starts each displayed vehicle every morning, advising the General Manager if a vehicle will not start.
3. Rearranges vehicle display positions as directed by manager.
4. Maintains all lights, pennants and sales equipment ready for use.
5. Delivers and picks up vehicles from the preparation and/or reconditioning area.
6. Reads basic maps, follows written directions to off-site locations.

ESSENTIAL JOB REQUIREMENTS:

1. Valid driver’s license.
2. Repeatedly raises and lowers vehicles’ hood and trunk and lifts tires in and out of vehicles.
3. Accurately reads and compares a series of “18”number and letter combinations.
4. Communicates clearly with supervisor and managers.
5. Insurability for driving.
6. Extensive (up to 8 consecutive hours) standing and walking (up to 4 miles daily) on cement, usual parking lot surfaces, tile, lino and other interior and exterior flooring surfaces.
7. Extensive out-of-doors work during daytime and nighttime hours in a variety of weather conditions and temperatures.
8. Repeated, regular and extended sliding, twisting, bending, pulling, pushing, stooping, stretching and reaching.
9. Repeated and regular getting in and out front and back seat of different sized vehicles.
10. Repeated lifting, leveraging and carrying of up to 65 pounds for both short and longer distances and over a variety of walking surfaces.
11. Repeated, regular and frequent washing, cleaning and drying vehicles (inside and out).
12. Mentally recalls, tracks and accurately recounts location of vehicles, work in progress and information pertinent to the job.
13. Works on several assignments simultaneously with accurate results.
14. Ability to stay on task in order to insure timely and accurate completion of duties.
15. Works cooperatively and courteously with a diverse population of co-workers. Clearly and effectively communicates with diverse work group; handles frustration, anger and pressure without internalizing.
16. Receives directions regarding assignments and then follows through on assignments in an accurate and timely manner.
17. Ability to maintain good employee relations by acting courteously and amicably towards other co-workers.
